Mark began arranging and composing for bands in 2004, and has been full steam ahead ever since!
Over the years, his material has contributed to several State and Chapter Championship trophies for schools all over the East Coast.
While arranging and composing for bands, Mark has also been a Band Director for successful programs in New Jersey and Pennsylvania for the last 14 years. During this time, Mark also spent four years as a marching member of the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps, and another six years as a staff member at the Jersey Surf Drum and Bugle Corps, including four years as the Brass Caption Head.
Mark prides himself on a thoughtful and personalized touch to arranging. Setting the students up for success is the highest priority, and it always informs writing decisions. Being able to write to the strengths of your program, and elevate the members to a higher level of performance is a main design focus at New Wave.
Mark currently lives in Pennsylvania with his wife and two puppies, and is a full time Elementary Band Director. Mark also operates “Mark Figueroa Music”, a music design company focused on composition for branding, podcasts, film scoring, and much more.
